Meet Restored Yamaha RX 135 Cafe Racer by Rebel Customs

Yamaha RX 135 is one of the most treasured motorcycles of the 90s and has been able to register a splendid sales record during its lifetime. Continuing the legacy alive, Rebel Customs, a customization shop in Ludhiana has recently modified an RX 135 into a cafe racer motorcycle.

Gobinda, one of the RX 135 enthusiasts bought the motorcycle in scrap condition for just INR 2500 and took it to Rebel customs for restoration and modification. The modifiers took around 6 months to restore the Yamaha RX 135. The conversion of the scrap motorcycle to a splendid cafe racer is something unique enough to grab major attention on the road. The total cost of customisation of this Yamaha RX 135 turned out to be around INR 50,000.

Coming to the cosmetic changes, the modifiers have redesigned the fuel tank of the motorcycle which is now a handmade unit with dominating lines. The fuel tank is further finished in an “Icy Blue” colour detailing while all the other blacked-out components add on to the unique design of the cafe racer. The overall lightweight profile of the customized motorcycle is perfect for mild off-roading as well as daily commuting.

The modifiers have further replaced the Sahara seat on the Yamaha RX 135 with a redesigned single-seat saddle. Rebel Customs has removed the toolbox from the stock motorcycle and has offered chrome detailing to the rear and the front suspension.

Apart from the cosmetic changes, the motorcycle’s engine has also been tweaked a bit to offer optimum power. In the stock condition, the Yamaha RX 135 features a 132cc, single-cylinder, 2-stroke engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 14HP and a peak torque of 12.25Nm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The kerb weight of the stock model of the motorcycle stands at 116kgs. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with an adjustable swing arm unit. The motorcycle features 130mm drum brakes at either side.
