The list of best-selling 150cc-250cc bikes broke the 1 lakh units mark recently, with Bajaj Pulsar series registering 1,05,256 units for the month of March 2019. The number is massive, leaving even commuters in shame as the majority of bikes posted huge negative growth in the 31-day period. The rival TVS Apache also experienced a drop in number but still, was able to compete with 42,965 units. Apart from these two brands with multiple sizes and designs for their bikes, Yamaha FZ (including Fazer) and Honda Unicorn were good for 19,870 units and 11,062 units respectively.
These four were good for five-digit numbers while R15 was left behind by a small margin at 9,503 units. The hattrick from the Japanese brand is experienced here with the newly-launched MT-15 and SZ-RR posting 5,203 and 2,872 units respectively. The sales number difference is huge between these 2 bikes as Yamaha is better in selling premium motorcycles than regular ones. Honda CB Hornet 160R bags the next position with 2,446 units while Bajaj Avenger and KTM Duke 200 registered 2,166 and 2,017 units respectively.
Other eight options falling in the list were good for just a handful of units, especially when considering the top-end spectrum and regular 150cc commuters.
