Bajaj and Triumph officially announced their partnership at a press conference back on 24th January 2020. The resultant collaboration of the brands will churn out motorcycles whose production will be handled by Bajaj while Triumph will be responsible for handling the branding.
As per the official details available, Bajaj and Triumph will be launching an all-new 200cc single-cylinder bike with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 2 lakhs while the motorcycle will start arriving at the dealerships sometime later this year.
It has also been confirmed that all the motorcycles developed under the partnership will be sold under the Triumph brand name while Bajaj will only handle the production at its Chakan plant in Pune. One can further expect the partnership to bring out motorcycles ranging from 200cc displacement going all the way up to 750cc.
Apart from this, the alliance between Bajaj and Triumph will give birth to an all-new motorcycle platform though no official details have been confirmed regarding the same.
Since the motorcycles are expected to be positioned under Triumph’s “Heritage” range in the brand’s portfolio, one can expect the upcoming motorcycles to be neo-retro cruisers with well-engineered designs. The motorcycles developed from the alliance will be distributed in international markets as well.
There has been no official confirmation on what kind of motorcycle variants will be developed from the partnership though the chances of retro cruisers seem to be quite high. When launched in India, the neo-retro cruisers from Bajaj and Triumph will compete in the market with the likes of brands like Honda, Royal Enfield as well as Jawa.
