Aprilia GPR 250 India Launch Expected by Mid-2020

Aprilia officially unveiled the all-new GPR 250 sportbike in China back in September 2019. In terms of design and styling, the 250cc motorcycle is inspired by the litre-class RSV4 series of superbikes. It is expected that the Aprilia GPR 250 will be showcased at the Auto Expo to gauge the public response while the sports bike is expected to launch in the Indian market after 4-6 months.

The Aprilia GPR 250 is powered by a 249.2cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 26.5HP @ 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 22Nm @ 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The sportbike weighs just 150kgs, so we can expect it to deliver an impressive performance in comparison to the rival 250cc motorcycles.

The braking duties on the motorcycle are handled by a 300mm single disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear. The brand has not yet revealed the rear disc size. Like the rest of the 250cc bikes available in India, the Aprilia GPR 250 will also come equipped with a 2-channel ABS as standard. As far as the suspension is concerned, the sportbike is equipped with USD (upside-down) front forks and an adjustable monoshock at the rear end.
