Aprilia RS660 Officially Revealed; India Launch Next Year

The production-ready variant of the Aprilia RS660 has been recently revealed at the EICMA 2019 auto show. With best-in-class power-to-weight ratio, the all-new 600cc-segment fully-faired machine is expected to be a big turnaround for the middle-weight motorcycle segment.

Coming to the design language, the production-spec variant of the motorcycle gets the same looks as seen on the prototype model. The aggressive and edgy LED-headlight setup offers it a beast look while the 3-tone colour combination accentuates its unique profile. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with its latest electronics package including a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU).

The electric suite offers the motorcycle with traction control, cruise control, cornering ABS, five riding modes, up/down quick-shifter, wheelie control, and engine braking system.

The Aprilia RS660 was initially unveiled as a concept at the EICMA 2018 and in comparison to the concept model, the production variant of the motorcycle now features a raised handlebar unit which replaces the aggressive handlebar setup revealed at the event last year.

The LED headlights have been mated to LED DRLs in addition to turn-indicators. The brand has further equipped the production variant of the motorcycle with a 5-inch, full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth Connectivity and GPS aid.

Coming to the rear profile, the concept variant of the motorcycle featured a sharper tail section in addition to a single-seat setup inspired from the Aprilia RSV4 though, the production variant of the motorcycle features a dual seat setup with a svelte tail section.

Coming to the suspension, the brand has offered the motorcycle with fully adjustable 41mm Kayaba forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit. The braking duties are handled by disc brakes at either side with Brembo callipers as standard.

Powering the Aprilia RS660 is an RSV4 1100-inspired 660cc 2-cylinder engine that is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 100HP. The rider can further operate the motorcycle in 5 riding modes, three for street and the remaining two for the track.

The sportbike will be made available to the customers sometime in the year 2020 though the pricing details have not yet been revealed by the brand. Once launched in the Indian market, the Aprilia RS660 will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and the all-new Triumph Daytona 765.
