The production-ready variant of the upcoming Aprilia RS660 has been recently spotted testing for the first time. The motorcycle is all set to be unveiled at the upcoming EICMA auto show, which is scheduled to be held in November this year in Italy. The recently-surfaced image of the motorcycle gives the audience a clear insight into what to expect from the all-new 600cc-segment fully-faired machine.
Coming to the design language, the production-spec variant of the motorcycle gets the same looks as seen on the prototype model. The aggressive and edgy LED-headlight setup offers it a beast look while the rearview mirror-mounted indicators accentuate its unique profile.
The Aprilia RS660 was initially unveiled as a concept at the EICMA 2018 though, the production variant of the motorcycle now features a raised handlebar unit which replaces the aggressive handlebar setup revealed at the event last year.
Coming to the rear profile, the concept variant of the motorcycle featured a sharper tail section in addition to a single-seat setup inspired from the Aprilia RSV4 though, the test mule has been spotted with a dual seat setup with a svelte tail section.
Coming to the suspension, the brand is expected to offer the motorcycle in two variants, the higher-spec variant will feature Ohlins suspension though the standard variant is expected to get components from Sachs. Similarly, Brembo disc brakes setup will also be different for both variants.
Powering the Aprilia RS660 will be the RSV4 1100-inspired 660cc, V-twin engine while the power and torque figures have not been revealed as of yet. The motorcycle is expected to feature ride-by-wire throttle technology in addition to getting various riding modes.
The sportbike will be made available to the customers sometime in the next year. Once launched in the Indian market, the Aprilia RS660 will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and the all-new Triumph Daytona 765.
