Production-Ready Aprilia Tuono 660 Spotted: Sources claim that Aprilia’s upcoming middle-weight street bike Tuono 660 is all ready to hit the road by the mid of 2021 and it has been recently spotted testing on the roads in Italy. The fact that it is looking almost ready to proceed towards production and awaiting its global launch, this new bike will also be launched in the Indian market next year.
The Tuono 660 is actually a more-affordable and toned-down version of the Aprilia RS660 supersport, while both the bikes are similar in a lot of aspects and have some identical features. The new Tuono 660 will have an identical headlamp as the RS660 supersport, in addition to getting similar tail section and fuel tank. The difference will be in the small fairing on the sides, leaving the engine and frame exposed.
While some components of the bike are the same as mentioned above while the major difference comes in the form of comfort and practicality of the new Tuono 660. Aprilia has bestowed the Tuono 660 with an easy-to-reach single-piece handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs to make it more comfortable and stylish than the committed ergonomics of its fully-faired iteration.
Though RS660 and Tuono 660 share the same 660cc parallel-twin motor, the Tuono reportedly will produce 95 Bhp of maximum power which is lesser than RS660’s 100 Bhp. The Tuono 660 will come equipped with features like wheelie control, engine brake control, cornering ABS, three riding modes, and traction control.
The sources claim that the Aprilia Tuono 660 is expected to launch in India somewhere around July 2021, and its expected price range will be between INR 11-12 lakhs. Once launched, the Aprilia Tuono 660 will compete against its competitors in the market like the Triumph Trident 660 and Kawasaki Z650. Certainly, 2021 will witness a huge tough breakout in the bike segment and will see some new launches.
