Bajaj Avenger 700 Reportedly in the Making; To Rival Harley Street 750

As per the recent rumours, the upcoming Bajaj and Triumph alliance that is all set to be finalised on January 24, 2020, will bring out the Bajaj Avenger 700 for the Indian market. The impending partnership between the brands will focus on the development of mid-displacement motorcycles that will be equipped with both Bajaj and Triumph motorcycle traits. The reports also suggest that the collaboration of the two motorcycle manufacturers will result in Triumph handling the research and development segment while Bajaj will be responsible for manufacturing the products. The strong partnership will allow both the brands to reach a wider audience in the Indian market while at the same time offer well-engineered products. In addition to powering the 700cc Avenger, the all-new engine from the collaboration of the brand will also power an entry-level Triumph motorcycle though there has been no official confirmation received on either of the rumours. Since the motorcycle is currently available in the market in 160cc and 220cc segment, the 700cc twin-cylinder engine will ultimately allow the brand to compete in the market with the likes of cruisers like Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the Royal Enfield 650 Twins. One can further expect the higher-displacement Avenger to be equipped with better suspension as well as wider tyres in addition to getting much stronger chassis though the overall design language will be kept the same when compared to its lower-displacement variants. The engine on the Bajaj Avenger 700 is expected to be localised in India and it will comply to both the Indian as well as European emission standards. Though there has been no further information received on the same, the brands will be rolling out a liquid-cooled two-cylinder engine that will power their products. One can expect the products of the collaboration to roll out in the year 2021 or early 2022 though we might be able to see some prototypes soon.
