Bajaj Dominar is the new winner for its segment, leaving behind the entire 500cc Royal Enfield range by a good margin in May 2019. The 1,888 units posted by the Dominar 400 were good enough to beat 612 units of the Classic 500, 140 units of the Bullet 500, and 133 units of the Thunderbird 500.
Combined, these three bikes were good for 885 units and that leaves 1,003 units more on the side of the new Dominar. Not just that, Dominar 400 is now more powerful than ever, producing 40 HP of maximum power and 35 Nm of peak torque from its 373.2cc DOHC fuel-injected engine. The new model of Dominar now comes equipped with USD front forks, new double barrel exhaust, and updated twin instrument consoles.
The price point of INR 1.74 lakh makes Dominar a much better option than the 500cc RE range while comparison with 346cc series still keeps a strong point for Royal Enfield at INR 1.53 lakh. The difference of INR 21,000 is good enough for many to consider the RE Classic 350 series. However, the power output of 20 HP is just half in comparison to the new Dominar.
