5 Reasons Why Bajaj Dominar 400 is a Better Buy than the BMW G310R

5 Reasons Why Bajaj Dominar 400 is a Better Buy than the BMW G310R: A majority of buyers are looking for value for money bikes in India and the Bajaj Dominar 400 has eventually topped the list due to its class-leading features and mind-boggling price.

BMW-Motorrad launched the G310R in India for INR 2.99 lakhs, leaving many fans with emotional pain and hopes falling short of expectations. But recently, to make things slightly better, BMW slashed the price and launched the BS6-compliant model of G310R with a much lower price tag of INR 2.45 lakhs.

It may not sound like a straightforward comparison for hundreds of BMW fans but, the Bajaj Dominar 400 needs some formal praise for being highly affordable and equally practical. Here are five reasons why considering Bajaj Dominar 400 is a good option over the BMW G310R.

5 Reasons Why Bajaj Dominar 400 is a Better Buy than the BMW G310R

1) Value for Money

The 2021 BS6-compliant model of Bajaj Dominar 400 is priced at INR 1.99 lakhs, and it is placed much lower in comparison to the BMW G310R at INR 2.45 lakhs. The price gap of INR 46,000 is unjustified in all terms, and BMW-Motorrad seems to be using the brand name for extra cash-in. Bajaj Dominar 400 offers excellent value for money and it is the most feature-loaded motorcycle in its class. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom India.

2) Performance Difference

BMW G310R is powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder engine producing 34HP and 28Nm. When compared to Bajaj Dominar 400, the output figures of G310R are too low. The 373cc, single-cylinder engine on the Dominar is sufficient for 40HP and 35Nm. The additional weight on the Dominar is managed by the extra torque, claiming a much higher top speed (165 kph, approx.) than the BMW roadster (143 kmph, company claimed).

3) Spare Part Availability/Price

After spending a tremendous amount on G310R, buyers will get continuous shocks in the form of spare part availability and pricing. Being a BMW, G310R will bring bigger bills for each service. Even the TVS Apache RR 310 has a higher cost for essential parts than other bikes around this segment. Dominar 400 is not just affordable but, also cares for your pocket at later stages of ownership.

4) Dealer Touch-points & Service Centres

BMW Motorrad has a limited number of dealer touch-points in India. Bajaj Auto, on the other hand, offers Dominar from its long list of dealerships. The difference is incomparable, leaving Dominar 400 as a more practical option. Servicing and other after-sales tasks are easily manageable when choosing Bajaj Dominar 400.

5) Equipment & Components

BMW G310R and the Bajaj Dominar 400, are powered by a single-cylinder, fuel-injected, and liquid-cooled engine. Both the motorcycles also offer USD forks, 2-channel ABS, wide tires and a digital instrument console as standard. Dominar comes with additional equipment like an assist and slipper clutch. We can safely say the Bajaj Dominar 400 is definitely a better buy than the BMW G310R.

  • The servicing by Bajaj is worst, in 3 years you will cry and say take as much of money but some one service the bike properly.

  • The 5th point you said is soo wrong. Research a little bit before posting such fake facts. G310 has a better gold anodised forks. It provides a TON of information via the instrument cluster, is better refined and tuned has a better suspension, has a superior reverse inclined engine which reduces weight lowers the center of gravity for better handling and a longer swing arm length which gives better high speed stability and comes with gel seats stock. Don't make shit up just for the sake of adding a '5th' point. Never trusting maxabout news again.

  • I agree with Prasad, Bajaj after sales service is pathetic and as a customer we would end up paying as of we were getting a car serviced.
