2019 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise ABS has been spotted testing in Pune ahead of its launch. Complying to the new government regulations of equipping every 125cc+ motorcycle with ABS, the Avenger 220 can be seen with a single channel ABS just like the Pulsar NS200 and RS200. Considering the addition of a single channel ABS at the front, the 2019 Avenger 220 Cruise is expected to be priced INR 7000 more than the ongoing model. The official price and other details would be available once the official reports surface.
The Avenger 220 Cruise features no mechanical or cosmetic changes apart from the addition of ABS. The cruiser continues to be powered by 220cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, triple-spark engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 19 HP and 17.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
The retro styling with a grey paint scheme still continues to give the cruiser a unique stance while a tall visor at the front complements the overall style and design of the motorcycle. The chrome detailing going all the way from headlights to the instrument console adds to its enigmatic appearance while the wire spoke wheels and comfortable seating position authenticates its cruiser styling.
Coming to the brakes, the Avenger 220 Cruise gets disc brake at the front with a single channel ABS while the rear of the cruiser has been equipped with a drum brake. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the back. According to the reports surfaced, the Avenger 220 cruise ABS is expected to be priced at INR 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom) including the additional charges of single-channel ABS though, there hasn’t been any official confirmation on the same.
