Bajaj Auto has recently launched the Chetak electric scooter in Nagpur city with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.43 lakhs for the base model while the bookings for the deal are already open on the official website of the brand.
In addition to Nagpur, the new Chetak electric scooter is also available in Pune and Bengaluru, with ambitions to expand to 22 cities by 2022. Chennai and Hyderabad are among the additional locations where this scooter will be available shortly, according to the details revealed by the company.
The electric scooter is powered by a 3 kWh battery pack with a peak power of 4.08 kW and a top speed of 60 km/h. If we talk about the ride modes, Eco and Sport riding modes are available on the scooter. The Eco mode optimizes performance to allow the scooter to go 90 kilometres on a single charge, while the Sport mode improves acceleration but reduces the overall electric range. This upcoming model can be completely charged in around six to eight hours using a standard three-pin charging connection.
Bajaj Auto had started accepting Chetak bookings earlier in India in April this year, but the firm had to shut them in only two days due to an overwhelming response to this electric vehicle. In terms of delivery, Bajaj Auto has stated that it plans to begin delivering the scooter in September.
At present, the 2021 model of Bajaj Chetak is available with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.42 lakhs for the Urbane model, and Rs 1.44 lakhs for the Premium model. As part of the redesigned FAME II grant, prices are subject to modification. However, the new price range for the electric scooter is yet to be announced by the brand.
