The most anticipated Bajaj Dominar 250 has started reaching dealerships ahead of its official launch which is expected to be held this month. In addition to the Vine Black colour, the 250cc motorcycle will be launched in India in an all-new red colour scheme which is currently not available with its elder sibling Dominar 400.
The brand has already sent out “Block Your Dates” invites for the first ride event of the motorcycle that will happen on March 20, 2020. The customers are expected to get their deliveries sometime in April 2020. As per the recent reports, the Dominar 250 will launch with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.60 lakh while the on-road price will be around INR 1.93 lakh in Mumbai.
Coming to the major changes imparted to the Bajaj Dominar 250, the motorcycle features a cheaper swingarm unit while the alloy wheels setup is also different when compared to the higher-displacement Dominar 400. In addition to this, the brand has further ensured cost-cutting with a revised disc brakes setup which is now smaller in size when compared to the Dominar 400.
The motorcycle has been equipped with a thinner tyres setup while the kerb weight has also been reduced by 600grams when compared to the 184kgs of the kerb weight of the 400cc Dominar. Apart from these cosmetic changes, the 250c Dominar has been retained with a bulky design language while the suspension setup has also been kept the same. The motorcycle features similar USD forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit.
Powering the Bajaj Dominar 250 will be a BS6-compliant 250cc engine that currently powers the Duke 250 though the power and torque figures are expected to be tweaked a bit. At present, the Duke 250 is capable of offering 30HP of maximum power and 24Nm of peak torque. Once launched in India, the Bajaj Dominar 250 will compete in the market with the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Yamaha FZ25.
