Bajaj Dominar 400 Sales Drop to 1500 units in May 2017

Bajaj Dominar 400 is undoubtedly one of the best bikes available for its price tag. Sales for the motorcycle recently dropped to 2000 units in April 2017 and as per the latest report, the sales have dropped further and Bajaj was able to sell only 1500 units of Dominar 400 in May 2017.

The reason for this fall is unknown as the motorcycle was selling more than 3000 units in last few months. This is a big blow to Bajaj Auto’s target of selling around 10,000 units of Dominar 400 when combining the Indian as well as export numbers. But the Bajaj officials are confident that they will be able to sell 10,000 units of Dominar (every month) by the end of year.

Bajaj Dominar recently saw a price hike of INR 1,000 and got itself a price tag of INR 1,39,000 for the non ABS variant. The variant with dual channel ABS can be had for INR 1,53,000. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

This was the 2nd hike in the Dominar’s history as it was launched with a price tag of INR 1,36,000. The introductory prices were kept for around last 3 months while Bajaj’s placement of Dominar was a shocking event for all other brands in the competition.

Bajaj Dominar 400 Sales Drop to 2000 units in April 2017

The value for money quotient of Bajaj Dominar 400 is very high and buyers are tempted to test the 373 cc, single cylinder engine of the motorcycle. The maximum output of 35 HP and 35 Nm of torque makes it one of the best options in the Indian market. Provisions like 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch further makes gear shifting an easy affair on the motorcycle.

Dominar 400 was even the first motorcycle to bring full LED headlamp into the affordable motorcycle segment. It weighs 182 kg and claims a top speed of around 156 kmph. Dominar 400 provides a comfortable 800 mm seat height while its 157 mm of ground clearance is even effective for Indian roads. It can be bought in Midnight Blue, Twilight Plum and Moon White shades in India. The claimed 0-100 kmph time of Bajaj Dominar is 8.23 seconds while it can come to halt from 100 kmph in less than 50 meters.
