As we all know, Bajaj Auto is working on a slew of new bikes for the Indian market and the Pulsar lineup of bikes is also among them. The Pulsar series is immensely popular among Indian bike enthusiasts, especially because of its sporty looks and commuting abilities. Thus, Bajaj always tries to update the existing models and introduce new ones as well, to refresh the portfolio. In this sequence, the brand has launched the all-new Bajaj Pulsar N160 bike in India. The Pulsar N160 is now available in our country with a starting price tag of Rs 1.23 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bajaj didn’t even make much noise but debuted India’s first 160cc motorcycle with dual-channel ABS. However, there is the choice of selecting single-channel ABS and dual-channel ABS variants. Single-channel ABS variants are offered in three lively shades: Caribbean Blue, Techno Blue, and Racing Red, whereas the top-end dual-channel ABS variant comes with the option of Brooklyn Black.
The bike draws design inspiration from the Pulsar N250 and gets a bi-functional projector headlamp and LED DRLs. The indicators are separate from the head cowl, and the split tail light is also LED. It also sports an upswept tail with split grip rails, much like any other conceited street fighter. Other key features include a semi-digital instrument cluster and a USB charging socket.
At its heart, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 is powered by a new 164.8cc twin-spark oil-cooled single-cylinder DTSi engine that produces 16.0 HP and 14.65 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The maker has given the bike a 795mm seat height, which will be perfectly suitable for a person of any height.
Speaking of the suspension system in the new Pulsar N160 bike, it sports 37mm telescopic forks (2-channel ABS model) at the front and a brand new Nitrox mono-shock at the rear. The braking duties are assigned to a 300mm front disc (2-channel ABS model) and a 230mm rear unit. In the single-channel ABS variants, the front suspension has 31mm thick forks and the front disc size is 280mm.
