Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS ABS was recently launched in India for INR 1.09 lakh. The unit on offer comes with single channel ABS, offering the same price gap that was once seen between non-ABS Pulsar RS200 and ABS equipped RS200.
Unfortunately, Bajaj Auto missed the dual channel ABS unit from Dominar 400. The difference in price would have been just INR 3,000 over the present premium in both 200cc bikes. Buyers will spot the ABS rings at both ends (same as RS200) but sensors are working for its front wheel only. This raises doubts that Bajaj would offer 300mm front disc brake (sourced from RS200) on the new NS200 ABS.
Once the motorcycle went off production and gave way to Pulsar AS200, its popularity witnessed a sudden rise among Bajaj fans in India. Bajaj responded to rising demands and launched the updated variant in January 2017.
Dealers have started accepting bookings for NS200 ABS while Bajaj has not yet updated its official website for this typical model. Presently, the shades on offer includes Wild Red, Graphite Black and Mirage White. Still, no news for the fuel injected variant was made official by the company.
If NS200 gets equipped with fuel injection, the engine may produce the same values as RS200. Bajaj Auto has high ratios of part sharing among performance motorcycles around the world. Majority of parts used in NS200, RS200 and Dominar 400 are shared with each other, helping them keep the cost under check and offer the best possible prices for each segment.
Still, NS200 and RS200 now feel more expensive than others as Suzuki asks for a premium of INR 4,000 for fuel injection and INR 6,000 for single channel ABS. On the other hand, Bajaj asks INR 11,000 for single channel ABS and fuel injection is still away from the charts.
