Bajaj Pulsar 220F registered a sales growth of 23% in April 2019. The motorcycle scored 8,485 units during the 30-day period and left behind a lot of motorcycles, including the Yamaha R15 V3. Bajaj is betting big on the DTS-i series as adding single-channel ABS to these bikes resulted in a price increase of approx INR 6500.
However, the sales number posted by the Pulsar 220F also clears that the design language of the decade-old Pulsar is still among the favourite ones in India. The highest selling model of the lineup is Pulsar 150, even after the introduction of new colour variants by every possible rival in the Indian market.
Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder oil-cooled engine producing 20.93 HP at 8500 rpm and 18.55 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Bajaj Auto claims 134 kph of top speed for the model while the acceleration time may vary highly with the weight of the rider and wind direction.
The 2019 model of the Pulsar 220F with 1-channel ABS costs INR 1.07 lakh and saves a lot of money for those who are not into the RS200 league. The buyers who still feel the same to be expensive, getting the new Pulsar 180 Neon is the perfect option at INR 94,800 (approximate, ex-showroom price).
