Bajaj Pulsar N160 Launch This Month; To Be Based on Pulsar N250

We have seen the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 test mules several times, and it is now expected to make its formal appearance soon. According to sources, the launch could take place in the second half of this month. We've learned that Bajaj only offers the naked model and no faired model. The recently discovered test mule appeared to be production-ready and provided quite a few facts.

A quick glance reveals the motorcycle has body panels that are very similar to the Pulsar N250. The headlamp cowl is comparable to the naked quarter-litre, and it has a projector headlight with LED DRLs. The indicators are light bulbs, whereas the taillight is an LED. A contoured split-seat configuration complements the high-set tail portion. Together with the single-piece handlebar, this should cause comfortable, upright ergonomics.

The bike shares the same chassis as the 250cc Pulsars, meaning it has the same frame, telescopic fork, and rear mono-shock. The all-new air-cooled 160cc engine based on the quarter-litre Pulsar's heart is nestled inside the chassis. Expect the N160's engine to be torque-rich as well, making it ideal for city driving. It will most likely produce output comparable to the Pulsar NS160, which produces 17.2PS and 14.6Nm. The new engine even has a kick-starting, which is not very common these days.

Bajaj is likely to keep the bike at a lower price range or in a line with the Pulsar NS160's price of Rs 1,21,754. (ex-showroom Delhi). We expect the next Pulsar N160 to cost around Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). And the release could take place in the second part of June or the first half of July 2022. On release Pulsar N160 will compete against the Hero Xtreme 160R, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3.0, Suzuki Gixxer, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
