Bajaj-Triumph Motorcycle Spotted Again; Royal Enfield Rival

While Bajaj launched Dominar with high hopes, it failed to pose a significant challenge to segment leader Royal Enfield. In the 350cc-500cc single-cylinder motorcycle segment, the Chennai-based manufacturer maintains a market share of more than 85%.

With the introduction of the new Royal Enfield Hunter 350, the company’s market share is expected to grow even further. Bajaj, on the other hand, does not appear to be giving up and plans to make another attempt soon. It will be obtained through the company’s collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles of the United Kingdom.

The new Bajaj-Triumph bike appears to be production ready. It appears to take design cues from the Triumph Bonneville range of motorcycles. A round headlamp and a seat of round rear-view mirrors contribute to the retro theme.

A compact design, sculpted fuel tank, single-piece seat, upswept exhaust, and alloy wheels are some of the highlights. The suspension system consists of USD forks up front and a mono-shock unit with preload adjustability in the rear. The use of a mono-shock unit at the rear makes the bike more suitable for off-road terrain.

Off-road performance is further enhanced by features such as dual-purpose Metzeler tyres. Disc brakes at both ends perform braking duties. There is a dedicated luggage rack at the back as well as on the left side.

A rectangular digital instrument console resembles the one found on KTM motorcycles but it may or may not be the unit that is used for the production variant.  There will be two versions available, one classic retro and one adventure scrambler. 

Based on the engine’s structure and size, it appears to be a 250cc to 300cc unit. The single exhaust vent indicates that the engine will be one cylinder. The engine is liquid-cooled and has a vertically mounted radiator.

The Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle will be sold globally, allowing Triumph to compete on a larger scale. Because the bike will be manufactured in India, the production cost will be significantly reduced. The Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle is expected to be priced competitively, somewhere around Rs 2 lakh. The Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle could be unveiled this year around Diwali and released in early 2023.
