Bajaj Becomes World’s Most Valuable 2-Wheeler Company: As per one of the recent reports, Bajaj Auto has become the world’s first two-wheeler company to cross a market capitalization of Rs. 1 lakh crore. As the report suggests, on January 1, 2021, the company’s expected share price closed at Rs. 3,479 on the National Stock Exchange market adding up to the total capitalization of 1,00,670.76 crore.
The market is considered to be at an all-time high as compared to the competitors of Bajaj Auto, the company has quoted its analysis in a statement saying that the market capitalization of over 1 lakh crore has not been achieved by any other two-wheeler brand in the world. This major milestone was celebrated by Bajaj at its 75th year of operations.
“The company’s sharp focus on the motorcycles category and its unwavering commitment to strategies of differentiation as well as the practice of TPM combined with global ambitions have today made Bajaj the most valuable two-wheeler company across the globe. This inspires us, even more, to serve and delight customers all over the world.” Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said.
As we know from earlier reports that Bajaj owns a 48% of stake in KTM AG of Austria, and several models of KTM and the Swedish brand Husqvarna, also owned by KTM, are jointly designed and manufactured by Bajaj and KTM. Bajaj also has a non-equity partnership with UK’s Triumph Motorcycles, under which both the giants have decided to produce small displacement motorcycles in India.
Bajaj recently also filed for a trademark application for reviving the old Excelsior-Henderson brand that gave Bajaj an edge over others. Bajaj Auto has three manufacturing plants at Chakan, near Pune, Waluj, near Aurangabad, and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. The company recently announced its fourth plant with a huge investment of 650 crores for manufacturing premium segment bikes and electric bikes in India.
