The BS6 2020 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and NS200 have been officially launched in the Indian markets at a price tag of INR 1,03,398 and INR 1,25,030 respectively. Both the motorcycle variants are now equipped with a BS6-compliant engine and get a premium of INR 9,203 and INR 10,675 respectively when compared to their BS4 price tags.
Coming to the mechanical bits, powering the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is a BS6-compliant 160.3cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that is now capable of offering maximum power of 17.2HP @ 9,000 rpm which is 2HP higher than the 15.2HP @ 8,500 rpm offered by its BS4 version. The torque offered by the BS6-compliant model remains the same at 14.6Nm @ 7,250 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
On the other hand, powering the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is a 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is now BS6 compliant and offers an increased power and torque output. The engine is now capable of churning out 24.5HP and 18.5Nm when compared to the 23.5HP and 18.3Nm offered by the BS4 version. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Both the BS6 variants of the Bajaj Pulsar ‘NS’ series are now equipped with a fuel-injected engine which replaces the carburetted engine seen on their BS4 counterparts. The addition of FI with an additional catalytic converter and other features to comply with the BS6 emission norms have caused a slight increase in the kerb weight.
Apart from the addition of an updated engine, the BS6 2020 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and NS200 remain similar to their BS4 versions in terms of the design as well as the graphics. The suspension duties, braking power, as well as the single-channel ABS unit, also remain the same for both the updated motorcycle variants.
