BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F Launched in India: The much-awaited BS6-compliant model of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F has been recently launched by the brand in the Indian markets at a price tag of INR 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated motorcycle that is now available across the dealerships carries a premium of around INR 8,960 over its BS4 price tag.
Coming to the design language, the brand has retained all the cosmetic bits and pieces of the BS4 variant of the motorcycle. The semi-faired motorcycle that now features a BS6-compliant engine continues to feature an LED projector headlamp at the front. In addition to this, the graphics on the body panels of the updated motorcycle variant also remains the same when compared to its BS4 counterpart.
Coming to the mechanical bits, the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F features a 220cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that is now BS6-compliant and capable of offering maximum power of 20.1HP and a peak torque of 18.55Nm. The updated engine variant has resulted in a power drop by 0.5HP when compared to the 20.6HP offered by the BS4 version though the torque figure remains the same. The engine continues to be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Since the motorcycle is now equipped with a fuel-injected engine and an additional catalytic converter to comply with the BS6 emission norms, the kerb weight of the updated motorcycle has increased by a total of 5kgs. The suspension duties are handled by the same telescopic forks at the front and dual gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.
The brand has revised the front disc brake setup on the updated motorcycle which now measures 280mm and is larger when compared to the 260mm front disc offered on the BS4 version. The 230mm rear disc brake remains the same while the single-channel ABS also remains standard.
The customers can avail the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F in two dual-tone colour schemes namely black/blue and black/red. The bookings of the motorcycle have already commenced with the dealerships while the deliveries will commence once the nationwide lockdown is lifted.
