The bookings for the much-awaited BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Fi have commenced at select dealerships across India with a token amount of INR 5,000. As per the recent reports, the BS6-compliant model of the Pulsar NS200 will launch in the next couple of weeks. The 200cc streetfighter will be equipped with a fuel-injected engine to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be implemented in India on April 1, 2020.
As we reported earlier, the updated motorcycle will be available in the Indian market in a new set of colours in addition to getting revised graphics. The motorcycle is expected to feature white/silver fuel tank design in addition to getting different neon detailing on its body panels though there has been no official confirmation received on the revised colour palette for the 2020 model of the street bike.
One can also expect the brand to launch the Pulsar NS200 Fi special edition version in the Indian market that was unveiled back in July last year in Colombia. The special edition motorcycle features neon yellow highlights while the under-seat panel at the rear features a “Pulsar Mania” sticker.
Apart from this, the “200” decals on the motorcycle remain the same when compared to the standard version of the NS200. The special edition variant of the motorcycle also features additional accessories like rubber pads for the fuel tank, knuckle guards as well as a crash guard.
There has been no information received on the updated power and torque figures of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Fi though one certainly expect a slight reduction in the performance with the addition of a BS6-compliant engine. At present, the 199.5cc, BS4-compliant engine on the NS200 is good for 23.5HP of maximum power and 18.3Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
The updated motorcycle is expected to feature the similar disc brake setup at either side mated to a single-channel ABS unit as standard. It is also being rumoured that Bajaj Auto may equip the BS6 model of the NS200 with a dual-channel ABS unit as KTM recently updated the RC 200 and Duke 200 with 2-channel ABS as standard. Once launched in India, one can expect the 2020 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 to be priced around INR 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
