According to the latest buzz, Bajaj Auto is all set to introduce its BS6 Bajaj Pulsar series in the coming months. The brand will be revealing the BS6-compliant models of the Pulsar portfolio by the end of the year 2019 or in early 2020. The updated Pulsar series will include every Pulsar variant including the Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180, NS200, Pulsar 220F as well as the newly-launched Pulsar 125.
According to the reports, the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar series will be updated with fuel injection to meet the BS6 emission norms that will be implemented in India on April 1, 2020. A fuel-injected engine emits less pollution while at the same time is mandatory for BS6 compliance.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is already equipped with fuel injection and it would be easier for the brand to make the motorcycle compliant with the BS6 emission norms. The compliance with the new BS6 emission norms will make the Pulsar series costlier by INR 5000 to INR 8000 though there has been no official confirmation made as of yet.
The recently launched Bajaj Pulsar 125 is currently available at a price tag of INR 66,618 for the disc brake variant. The motorcycle is powered by a 124.5cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 12 HP at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque figure of 11 Nm at 6,500 pm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The reports also suggest that the brand will also be updating their most affordable Pulsar 125 with a BS6-compliant engine though it remains to be seen whether the brand will be equipping the motorcycle with a fuel-injected engine or an e-carb engine.
