India’s First 110cc ABS Motorcycle Launched at Rs 65,926

Bajaj Auto has officially launched India’s first 110cc ABS motorcycle with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 65,926. Known as Platina 110 ABS, the bike is based on the H-Gear variant of Platina. The ABS model is priced INR 1,625 higher than the Platina H-Gear, which is currently available at INR 64,301.

To price the single-channel ABS variant so competitively, Bajaj Auto has removed some of the features in comparison to the H-Gear variant, like the semi-digital instrument console, as the new ABS variant features an all-analogue console. The Platina 110 ABS is available in three colours: Charcoal Black, Volcanic Red, and Beach Blue.

Mr Sarang Kanade, President – Domestic Motorcycles Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd said – “The new Platina 110 ABS offers unmatched safety by offering riders complete control over unforeseen braking scenarios. We hope that millions of Indians who ride across varying terrains & roads of the country would take cognizance of the need to keep themselves & their loved ones safe and upgrade to the best-in-segment braking technology. The brand Platina has an unmatched proposition of Comfort with over 7 million satisfied customers as a testament to its segment-leading attributes and now with the addition of ABS, it remains a generation ahead of its competitors.”

Some of the key design highlights of the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS include a ribbed seat, knuckle guards, golden rear suspension, an all-analogue instrument console, LED DRLs, new graphics, and Pulsar NS/RS-inspired odd-looking white alloy wheels.

Mechanically, there are no changes and the new Bajaj Platina 110 ABS continues to be powered by Platina H-Gear’s 115cc DTS-i single-cylinder engine. It generates the same 8.6 HP of maximum power at 7000 rpm and 9.81 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

In terms of braking, the commuter motorcycle features a 240mm front disc brake with a single-channel ABS unit while the rear end features a drum brake. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual nitrox shock absorbers at the rear end.
