Kratos VS400 is the Upcoming Flagship Bajaj Motorcycle
Here are some interesting facts about the much-awaited Bajaj Kratos VS400:
# New Brand Name! | Kratos
The details about this motorcycle being called VS was shared by a confidential source with Maxabout a few days back. The brochure images clearly stated that the new bike is Pulsar VS400. But now as per a recent interview of Rajiv Bajaj, VS400 won’t be launched as a Pulsar and as per a news report by AutoCarIndia, the company has plans to launch it as Kratos VS400.
# Kratos & VS Stands For?
The biggest query in every Bajaj fan’s mind is the full form of VS in Bajaj’s nomenclature. Well, ranging from versatile sport to vikrant sport, internet is full of guesses what the new nomenclature stand for the VS400. But some sources suggest that VS stands for Vantage Sportz and Kratos means Greek God of War.
# Expected Launch Date | The Wait is Almost Over!
Bajaj Auto has officially confirmed that Kratos VS400 would be launched in India in November this year. The next 2 months are very crucial for those who are strict Bajaj fans and even more for those who will join the new Kratos brand club with the newcomer VS400 as their first bike bike.
# Engine & Power Figures | Less Powerful than Duke!
The engine on the new Kratos VS400 is 373.27 cc unit producing 25.74 kW/35 HP @ 8000 rpm. The value is quite low when compared to 390 Duke and RC 390 while the inside game is different. The VS400 has been made in a cruiser style, thereby limiting the maximum power at a lower rpm while the 390 twins produce 43 BHP @ 9000-9500 rpm. The maximum torque in the case of Kratos VS400 is still unknown, hinting at a healthy figure at a lower rpm.
# Gross Vehicle Weight | Kerb Weight
The 332 kg of gross vehicle weight includes the weight of motorcycle with all fluids, full fuel tank, rider, pillion and a definite amount of cargo. We can expect the production ready kerb weight of above 160 kg for the VS400. The exact values would soon be available after the official launch in November.
# Expected Variants | Expected Price
The Bajaj Kratos VS400 will be offered in both ABS equipped and non-ABS variant. The price of both the models may differ by Rs 15,000-20,000 which further depends upon the single or dual channel ABS being used on the VS400. The base n0n-ABS model is expected to be priced close to Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
# LCD Instrument Console | LED Headlights
The motorcycle in its production form will use the LED lights (1st in this price range), and it will come equipped with 2 LCDs (like Ducati Diavel), one in-between the handlebar and the 2nd one mounted on the fuel tank. The loss of USD forks from the concept version may help the bike maker place the Kratos VS400 in a better price bracket.
