New 125cc Bajaj Motorcycle India Launch Soon: Bajaj Auto has again hinted an entry to the 125cc segment with a premium product. The brand is yet to announce the name of the product but most reports have hinted at the launch of Pulsar NS125. The reports may not turn out to be true as Bajaj Auto has already confirmed that they will not bring the Pulsar name to such small displacement options.
However, as the launch of KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 has proven to be beneficial, Bajaj may reconsider the Pulsar NS125 for the Indian market. As they brought a new brand with the V-series of motorcycles, the brand could even consider some other nameplate with a significance. Here is what the officials from Bajaj Auto have to say regarding this update.
“We are missing out on mid-segment 125cc, I think it’s about 2.5 lakh bikes a month. It’s not small. If you have a 20% share there, it gives you a considerable number. Certainly, we are missing out on a big slice and we have to make up for that with a new brand which we are working on.”
The estimated number is huge for 125cc bikes in India and dreaming of a huge chunk is not a bad idea, even when the rivals are pricing their products at such places that buyers are confused on getting a bigger displacement product for a similar price. The price tag of Honda CB Shine SP touches the same mark as the Pulsar 150 Neon.
Bajaj Auto has always proven its value for money factor but on two occasions (NS200 and RS200), the math has failed. The brand charged more than 12,000 for the single-channel ABS unit while at the same time, took just INR 3,000 for the same ABS on the Pulsar 150 Neon. The new 125cc Bajaj motorcycle will launch in India next month and it could fall around INR 62,000-65,000 price bracket.
