According to recent reports, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli will be introducing two new variants of their recently-launched Imperiale 400 cruiser in the coming months. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 rival, Imperiale 400 has been launched by the brand at a price tag of INR 1.69 lakhs (ex-showroom) while the motorcycle has been able to register a total of 1,200 bookings within just a month.
The numbers are not huge as compared to the other cherished products in the Indian market though, things do seem to have progressed for Benelli in India. Taking a similar approach as followed by Royal Enfield, the Italian brand will also introduce new variants of its Imperiale 400 cruiser that will feature slight differences in the design language and will be christened with different names.
Commenting on the plans on working on two new variants of the cruiser, Vikas Jhabakh, MD Benelli stated – “Imperiale 400 will definitely not be our last product in the segment. We are doing a couple of iterations of this product and various other engine sizes: bigger and smaller. On the R&D front, we’re working on 5 to 6 different products right now. How many we will bring to India will be based on the market feedback for different products.”
