Benelli Imperiale 400 Launched in India @ INR 1.69 Lakh

Benelli Imperiale 400 Deliveries to Begin on October 27

Benelli Imperiale 400 retro cruiser has been officially launched in India at a price tag of INR 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand is offering a complimentary free service package for 2 years in addition to a best-in-class warranty of 3 years/unlimited kilometres with every purchase of the cruiser. The India-spec model of the Imperiale 400 looks more or less similar to the international-spec model.

Commenting on the launch of the Benelli Imperiale 400 motorcycle, Mr Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director, Benelli India, stated – “We are delighted to launch a series of exciting models in the last two months in the Indian market and this proves Benelli’s commitment to India. We are betting big on the segment, with the launch of the Imperiale 400 and are confident of capturing a significant market share with several dealership launches set to take place, to ensure that our services and the Imperiale 400 is within reach for every rider out there.”

The Benelli Imperiale 400 has been equipped with a BS4-compliant 374cc single-cylinder fuel-injected air-cooled engine, which is further mated to a 5-speed transmission. As the Indian government will implement the new emission norms on April 1, 2020, the brand is expected to update the bike with a BS6-compliant engine in the coming months.

The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 21HP @ 5,500 rpm and max torque of 29 Nm @ 4,500 rpm. In comparison, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is powered by a 346cc single-cylinder engine that is good for 19.8HP of power and 28Nm of torque. The 293cc engine of Jawa Classic 300 is good for 27HP and 28Nm.

The Benelli Imperiale 400 looks uber cool with almost nothing to criticise in terms of exterior design. Every part stays true to the other one, combining to form an elegant cruiser motorcycle. The fuel tank lacks any significant curve and flows perfectly into the two-piece seat. Both the seats look decently padded while the design of the front and rear fenders further improve its classic machine looks. The motorcycle features a dual-pod analogue-digital instrument console with a small digital display on the left side.

A retro round headlight, orange cup indicators, spoked wheels, and standard telescopic forks make the fact sure that the motorcycle will look unique and commanding on the road. The Benelli Imperiale 400 has been launched in India with three colour options namely black, red, and silver. The brand has localised the Imperiale cruiser heavily to price it aggressively in the Indian market while making it compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Jawa Standard. The bookings for the motorcycle have already been commenced by the brand while the deliveries will begin soon.
