Benelli Imperiale 530 Retro Cruiser Leaked Ahead of Launch

Benelli Imperiale 530 Retro Cruiser Leaked Ahead of Launch

According to recent reports, Benelli has filed patents for two new motorcycles under its portfolio, one of which is the Imperiale 530 that has recently surfaced online. The brand has bigger plans for the year 2020 though, the coronavirus pandemic has indefinitely halted all the necessary operations for the automobile manufacturers.

Judging from the leaked patent image, the Imperiale 530 draws inspiration from its younger sibling Imperiale 400 that is currently available in the Indian markets. The bigger displacement Benelli features a similar retro design language with a round headlight and chrome rearview mirrors.

In addition to this, the fuel tank design of the Imperiale 530 resembles with its 400cc version while the only thing that distinguishes them apart is the addition of a long single-piece seat on the 530cc variant. On the other hand, the Imperiale 400 has been imparted a split-seat setup.

Codenamed as “BJ500”, the Benelli Imperiale 530 has been equipped with an engine capacity of 530cc. Since the Imperiale 400 is powered by a 374cc engine that is capable of offering 21HP of maximum power and 29Nm of peak torque, the power and torque values of the bigger displacement 530cc engine are expected to be a bit higher.

One can expect the Imperiale 530 to offer maximum power between 28HP- 30HP though there isn’t any confirmation received on the same. Easily recognisable additional catalytic converter offered to the motorcycle in the patent image further confirms the upcoming cruiser to be equipped with a BS6-compliant engine.

Though the earlier reports suggested the launch of a new Benelli Imperiale model in July 2020, the ongoing COVID-19 situation has made things rather unsure at the moment. If the brand plans on launching the Imperiale 530 retro cruiser in the Indian markets, it is expected to get a huge fan base.
