Benelli TNT 135 was the most awaited motorcycle from the company lineup, carrying a design that could make people go crazy for its presence. Unfortunately, a recent report suggested that Benelli has postponed its launch because of DSK’s prediction that it may not become popular among the Indian masses. The motorcycle was first unveiled at 2015 EICMA 2017 while its launch was expected to take place in the month of April 2017 itself.
Benelli TNT 135 India Launch Delayed
The brand image of Benelli may not go well with the product in India as most bikes sold here by the brand are from the middleweight segment. Indian market is new to these mini bikes and DSK Benelli believes that the price would not be acceptable by most of the buyers. Honda’s recently launched Navi is even the slowest selling product in their scooter lineup, despite of being the most affordable automatic scooter in the company lineup.
Benelli TNT 135 is actually a different story, carrying premium components like USD front forks, twin pipe exhaust, trellis frame and thick tyres for enhanced looks. All these things won’t comes at an affordable price and even like Navi, cannot even be shared with other products in the lineup. The market research will go on for the TNT 135 as they are not in the mood to take a risk and deteriorate the company’s image with one such mistake.
TNT 135 is powered by a 134.7 cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine producing 13 HP at 9000 rpm and 10.8 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is single cylinder and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Weighing 121 kg, TNT 135 simply looks small but carries a normal weight figure as other bikes from the engine segment. It comes with components like ZR spec wheels, 41 mm USD forks, 220 mm front disc and 190 mm rear disc brake.
