Benelli is preparing to launch the TRK 251 in India by the end of 2019 or if late, by early 2020. The quarter-litre adventure motorcycle is the younger cousin of the recently launched TRK 502, using a different engine and design in comparison to the twin cylinder motorcycle. Benelli TRK 251 is powered by a 249.2cc single cylinder engine, producing 24.5 HP at 9000 rpm and 21 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with 280mm front disc brake with four-piston callipers and 240mm rear disc with single piston calliper. It will rival none other than the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming Hero xPulse 200 in the segment.
The alloy wheels are made out of aluminium and thus, expecting TRK 251X with spoke wheels is equally possible. The brand recently launched the TRK 502X with a price gap of INR 40,000 from the regular version. This makes the X version of TRK 251 possible for a much lower price tag due to limited expected differences between the bikes of the quarter-litre segment. The motorcycle will arrive in Red, White and Black shade for the international market while Indian shades can vary with the Benelli’s plan of bringing either black/white or colourful options into the segment.
Benelli TRK 251 comes with a lighter front section, similarly raised fender and higher than a usual windshield. The front disc is petal type while exhaust seen here is inclined to improve the off-road riding feel. The seats of TRK 251 are decently padded as the ones seen on the TRK 502 are highly padded to avoid any sort of inconvenience. The front forks are USD type while rear comes with a monoshock on the motorcycle. The launch of TRK 251 will add another potential product to the Benelli lineup, with 752S street fighter, Imperiale 400, and others coming later into the Indian market.
