India-Spec Benelli Imperiale 400 Specifications Revealed

Benelli is all set to launch the Imperiale cruiser motorcycle in the Indian market in the coming weeks. Ahead of the launch, the complete technical specifications of the India-spec Benelli Imperiale 400 has been officially revealed. The brand has not mentioned anything related to the emission norms though,  we can expect the Imperiale to come equipped with a BS6-compliant engine.

As per the official website of Benelli India, the motorcycle is powered by a 374cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, 4-valve, SOHC engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 21HP at 5500 rpm with a peak torque of 29 Nm at 4500 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In comparison, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is good for 20HP of power and 28Nm of torque.

India-Spec Benelli Imperiale 400 features a double-cradle frame while the motorcycle is equipped with 41mm telescopic front forks and adjustable dual rear shock absorbers. The braking duties on the bike are handled by a 300mm single front disc brake and a 240mm disc brake at the rear end, which are paired to a 2-channel ABS unit as standard. The Imperiale 400 is equipped with a 100/90-19 front tyre and a 130/80-18 rear tyre.

In terms of dimensions, the motorcycle measures 2170mm in length, 820mm in width, and 1120mm in height. The seat height and the fuel tank of the Imperiale 400 are 780mm and 12-litres respectively. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at 205kgs, which is on the higher side in comparison to the Royal Enfield Classic 350, which weighs 192kgs.

India-Spec Benelli Imperiale 400

As per the latest details available, Benelli has officially commenced the pre-bookings of the Imperiale 400 in the Indian market for a token amount of INR 4000. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in India on October 20, 2019, and one can expect the brand to price it competitively at a price tag of around INR 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Imperiale 400 would be available in the market in Red, Black, and Chrome colour options while the customers will be offered a three-year unlimited kilometres warranty with every purchase of the Imperiale cruiser.
