Benling Electric Motorcycle is Coming to India: The Chinese brand Benling is all set to elaborate its fame in the electric two-wheeler segment in India by launching its first electric motorcycle in January 2020. The upcoming bike would be competing with the likes of the Revolt RV400 in the Indian market. Benling has been known for selling electric scooters in the country. The company set its first plant in India somewhere around December 2018.
The brand currently offers four types of electric scooters in the Indian market namely Kriti, Falcon, Icon and Aura. The company has already managed to earn applause by selling around 800 units of its electric scooters throughout the country via its dealerships set in cities like Banglore, Chennai, Gurugram, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
The Benling electric motorcycle will be designed in such a way that it aligns perfectly with the Indian market. The China famed two-wheeler brand is hopeful about offering a range of 140km when fully charged and the bike is expected to offer a top speed of 80-90km/hr. Thanks to the reduction in GST rates and FAME II subsidy which will make the upcoming motorcycle available at a competitive price. It can be expected that the product will be available at a price tag close to INR 80,000 (on-road).
Prior to the arrival of the electric motorcycle, Benling is looking forward to setting up three plants with the motive to expand its foothold in India. In addition, the company is also planning to collaborate with popular 2-wheeler rental firms.
A revision in prices has been noticed in the price range of the electric two-wheelers owing to the reductions in the GST rates, for example, Ather Energy recently unveiled the revised rates for the 340 and 450 models, which are now available at INR 1.02 lakh and INR 1.14 lakh respectively.
The brand Okinawa Autotech followed the same trend by revising the rates of its products that fall under the Lead Acid range and reduced the prices by INR 2500-INR 4700 whereas the Li-ion series got price reduction by INR 3400-INR 8600.
