Bimota, which manufactures bespoke bikes and production motorcycles, has finally revealed the production model of its retro sportbike KB4 at EICMA 2021 in Milan, Italy. This bike was initially shown as a concept by an Italian brand during the last EICMA event in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. It is now open to the public after nearly two years of development.
Aside from the updated KB4, Bimota also announced a naked RC version of the motorbike, the Bimota KB4 RC, which will be available in 2022. The Bimota KB4 bodyparts are built from carbon fibre while the sportbike is powered by a 140bhp inline 4-cylinder engine based on the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. The new Bimota KB4 also includes Kawasaki-supplied electronics. This contains a cornering management system, cruise control, power modes, ABS, up and down quick shifters, and traction control.
In addition to the Kawasaki-derived colour TFT dash with smartphone connectivity, the Bimota boasts the company’s distinctive hefty switchgear. The sportbike also gets a billet aluminium swingarm, while the Ohlins TTX36 rear monoshock and Ohlins FGRT43NIX30 front forks handle the suspension duties, and both can be adjusted independently. The Brembo units, on the other hand, is in charge of braking.
