2 New BMW Bikes Launch in India @ Auto Expo 2018
BMW Bikes Launch in India in February: 2018 Auto Expo is a huge platform and BMW plans to use the Expo’s influence to bring new products into the Indian market. A recent report claims that BMW is planning to bring F750GS and F850GS at the 2018 Auto Expo. The middleweight adventure bikes were first seen on 2017 EICMA.
BMW is keen to expand their lineup further as they are presently in CBU specific market with prices starting above INR 15 lakh. Even the most affordable option feel much more expensive when compared to brands like Kawasaki and Ducati. Those two will also arrive through the CBU route.
As the engine size shrinks, buyers can expect a smaller price tag for both these touring friendly motorcycles. Exact rival to this segment is Triumph Tiger 800 while pricing can even put them against the much more versatile Honda Africa Twin.
Expected prices are said to fall around INR 10 lakh for the road version and INR 12 lakh for the adventure tourer. BMW F750GS is powered by a 853cc, twin cylinder engine producing 77 HP at 7500 rpm and 83 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It comes with alloy wheels and different set of equipment from F850GS.
The other one is tuned to produce 95 HP at 8250 rpm and 92 Nm at 6250 rpm. The use of spoke wheels and other accessories makes F850GS five kilograms heavier than the other version. BMW will have the biggest space among all others at Auto Expo 2018, displaying almost entire lineup of bikes on the occasion.
It is hard to say whether they will do the same for cars also but expect the new i8 Roadster to arrive through the platform. They can even display the international concept like Z4 at the Auto Expo.
