Launch Update: BMW G310R Will Come to India in 2018

Yes! It is true! BMW Motorrad recently revealed that the much-awaited G310R will come to India. There were rumors in the automotive industry that G310R is only for the export market and it won’t launch in India. Thanks to our reader Adithya Benzeer for sharing an important update with us.

Adithya shared a screenshot of his chat with BMW Motorrad (Official Facebook Page) regarding the launch of G310R in India. Here, one can clearly see the hope rising through the use of phrase ‘setting up the business operations in India’ and ‘finalizing the launch date for G310R’. In other words, they are considering the product for India! The launch date is not confirmed but the good news here is that G310R will launch in India for sure.

The product was more than just a motorcycle for fans around India. It was a way they could achieve their dream of owning a big brand name like BMW under a price tag of approx 2.50 lakh (on-road). BMW’s present range starts from R1200R and goes up to K1600 GTL. This makes G310R very unique as it will be placed around 8 times below the present base model in terms of price.

BMW G310R is powered by 313cc, single cylinder engine producing 33.6 BHP at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims a top speed of 143 kmph. It comes with premium features like USD forks, dual channel ABS and full digital instrument console. TVS is manufacturing the G310R for BMW at its Chennai plant.
