BMW Motorrad Sold 150 Units in 2 Months in India

BMW Motorrad India started operations in April 2017 and sold 150 units in last two months. Their products are now well planned and placed at the best possible point for tougher competition with its rivals. When considering individual sales, 60 percent of bikes sold were R1200 GS and R1200 GS Adventure. The brand currently has four outlets in Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad while recent plans reveal the establishment of fifth in New Delhi. They will soon cover all major cities of India.

BMW product range starts from INR 15.90 lakh, making it quite lucrative than the earlier prices of imported bikes. The same bikes are now nearly half the price of what they used to cost few years back. They currently operate through the CBU route but place of export seems to have changes to some nearby location.

BMW currently makes G310R in India but has not revealed the actual date for the launch of that much awaited roadster. The smallest BMW motorcycle is manufactured by TVS in India. The most popular model among all, R1200 is powered by a 1170 cc, twin cylinder engine producing 125 HP at 7750 rpm and 125 Nm at 6500 rpm.

This makes it a very practical option in all the body types, specially making it very useful in the GS and Adventure version. The power is available in abundance while huge fuel tanks make them very useful for off-road rides. BMW R1200 GS costs INR 15.90 lakh while R1200 GS Adventure costs INR 17.50 lakh.
