BMW S1000RR has been officially launched in India with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 18.50 lakh. The 2019 model of the superbike gets more power and an all-new design for the litre-class segment. The 999cc, four-cylinder engine used here is good for 207 HP at 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm.
BMW offers titanium valves, water cooling, and ShiftCam technology for the newcomer. The superbike still claims a top speed of 299 kph (electronically limited) and weighs just 197 kg with full fuel tank and fluids. Applying M-package to the motorcycle lowers the same to 193.5 kg.
The motorcycle measures 2,073mm in length, 848mm in width and 1,151mm in height. The seat height measures 824mm while fuel tank carrying capacity is 16.5-liters. The front tire measures 120/70-ZR17 while the rear comes with a massive 190/55-ZR17 tire. The design is all-new, getting symmetrical front headlights and reduced fairing with focus on aerodynamic improvement.
The tail section is lighter and frame can be seen under the seat. The BMW S1000RR competes in the Indian market with the likes of Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, Yamaha YZF-R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000R, MV Agusta F4 RR, Aprilia RSV4 RR, and the Ducati Panigale V4.
