As per a recent report by Economic Times, TVS Motor delivered a total of 4500 units of BMW G310R to their European partner BMW Motorrad in FY16-17. The numbers will definitely increase this year as BMW will retail their smallest motorcycle in more markets this fiscal. G310R is a volume generator for BMW as it can be priced very effectively in various markets, thanks to its low cost of production in the Indian market. TVS Sold 4500 Units of BMW G310R to BMW Motorrad in FY17
The launch of BMW G310R was delayed in India recently and it is now expected to be launched later this year, most probably by the end of 2017. G310R was confirmed for April/May 2017 but due to some unknown reasons, the launch has been delayed for India. It was one of the most awaited products of 2017. BMW Motorrad recently relaunched its operations in India and the brand launched all high-end motorcycles in India except the G310R and G310GS.
The most favorable reason for the delay of BMW G310R could be the difficulties being faced in setting-up the sales outlets for the motorcycle. BMW Motorrad is gearing up for more showrooms before the mass market option is launched in India. This could take few months as feasibility study for operating a BMW dealership in most cities of India would take considerable time. BMW recently launched bigger players like K1600, R1200 and S1000 series in India. This time, they have come up with better prices for tough competition with premium segment players like Ducati, Triumph, Kawasaki and many others. View BMW Motorrad Price List
