BMW R18 Cruiser Bookings Open in India at INR 1 Lakh

According to recent reports, the bookings for the newly unveiled BMW R18 cruiser motorcycle have commenced in the Indian markets. The production variant of the bike has been recently unveiled by the brand while the motorcycle was initially showcased in a concept form at the Concorso d’Eleganza 2019. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the Indian markets sometime in the coming months while one can expect it to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 18-20 lakh. The brand has not yet revealed major details on the India launch of the cruiser though as per a recent report by Autocar India, one can expect the deliveries to commence in October 2020. The interested customers can book the motorcycle for themselves at the authorized dealerships with a token amount of INR 1 lakh, once the nation-wide lockdown is lifted. To jog your memory, the BMW R18 cruiser is powered by a 1802cc, air+oil cooled, boxer twin engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 91HP @ 4750 rpm and a peak torque of 158Nm @ 3000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with an exposed shaft drive while offering a steel cradle chassis. BMW is further offering the motorcycle with a host of additional features as well as customization options as per your taste. The customers can avail the BMW R18 with custom-made body panels as per their choice which includes the likes of a 21-inch front wheel, custom alloy wheels, seat design, exhaust system and more. The brand has revealed the BMW R18 in two trims namely standard and the First Edition. The First Edition trim of the cruiser has been imparted with an extra chrome treatment in addition to offering custom-made seat badging featuring a 'First Edition' moniker. The motorcycle features fuel tank badging finished in copper and many more intricate features. The brand is expected to grace the Indian markets with the First Edition trim of the BMW R18 though there is no official confirmation received on the same as of yet. Once launched in India, the motorcycle will compete in the market against the likes of cruisers from Harley-Davidson and Triumph.
