September 2017 marks the start of India’s festive shopping spree and automobile industry was one among the top gainers. Trends in sales remains almost the same as positions of top sellers were not at all affected with rise in numbers. Here is the Brand-Wise 2-Wheeler Sales Report for the month of September.
The proportion of increase was such that most brands had a good share out of this festive boost. Hero MotoCorp retained its 1st position and not just that, created a new record by selling more than 7 lakh units (7,03,473) in September 2017.

Honda followed at number two and got 5,69,822 units of sale within the same period. The gain in numbers was good enough but could not win over TVS with 3,07,160 units of sale and a huge 53,186 units gain over the same month last year.
Bajaj Auto followed close for the 4th position at 2,47,418 units. Yamaha India saw a downfall in sales than the number witnessed last year but still managed to grab the fifth position with 82,444 units of sale last month.
Royal Enfield is one rising star in two wheeler segment, selling 69,393 units in September 2017 and claiming the sixth position among major brands. Suzuki India crossed another personal benchmark and sold 50,807 units in the same month.
This may help them bring more products as they are closer to achieve the 1 million annual sales mark. Piaggio was resurrected through the introduction of Aprilia SR 150 and hence, sales touched 8,059 units in September 2017. Mahindra two wheelers registered 1925 units within the same period, making them the least selling mass production brand among all others in India.
Harley Davidson was undoubtedly the highest selling premium motorcycle brand with 309 units for September 2017. The number last year was 520 units. Kawasaki India sold 128 units from its limited dealerships while Triumph India followed close with 86 units.
