Brand-Wise 2-Wheeler Sales Report (FY 2018-19)

Brand-Wise 2-Wheeler Sales Report (FY 2018-19): When equating the total number of motorcycles sold in FY 2018-19, the figure goes up to an astonishingly high 2,11,81,390 units. This number does not include some premium brands and thus, the ratio won’t change by a big margin after considering them in this figure. The biggest number was posted by Hero MotoCorp, registering 76,12,775 units and taking more than one-third of the market under its control. The closest rival to the brand is Honda with 55,20,617 units.

Hero Xtreme 200R

Both the brands rule the commuter segment and leave just a small portion for other manufacturers. TVS is the third largest brand in India, posting 31,36,532 units in the FY 2018-19. However, the numbers mentioned here do not include exports at all. Bajaj Auto posted 24,90,615 units, taking the fourth position on the yearly sales report. Royal Enfield and Yamaha were seen switching places throughout the year, with RE getting the fifth position with 8,05,273 units. Yamaha was left behind by a small margin at 8,04,682 units.

Honda CBR250R

Suzuki gained a considerable share in the market through its scooters and posting 6,68,787 units is concrete evidence that the brand will rise in the coming months. Piaggio (77,775 units) is the only premium scooter-specific brand here to post such a huge number. KTM India posted a decent sales figure of 50,705 units in the FY 2018-19. Apart from these 9 brands, the remaining were not blessed with such huge numbers.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200

Mahindra took the tenth position with just 4,004 units while Kawasaki was good for 3,115 units during the same period. UM posted 2,856 units in the full year while Harley-Davidson, being much more expensive than the rivals, posted 2,676 units. Triumph was left behind with 978 units, showing how buyers are focusing on the two former brands only.
