Breaking! BSA Motorcycles is Back – Gold Star 650 Officially Showcased

The legendary British bikemaker, BSA Motorcycles, has officially made a comeback with the unveiling of its new bike, the Gold Star 650, at the National Motorcycle Museum, UK. The official launch event will be held on December 4, 2021, at the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham, UK. BSA Motorcycles were discontinued decades ago, but Classic Legends, which is owned by Mahindra & Mahindra, has resurrected the brand. Classic Legends co-founder Anupam Thareja confirmed that the bike was designed and developed in the United Kingdom.

The Gold Star bike will be available in five variations, which are Red, Green, Silver, Sheen and Black, but the flagship model is the Sheen Edition. The motorcycle is beautifully designed with polished chrome guards, a polished fuel tank and polished sections on the engine casings. The new-gen BSA Gold Star 650 is the perfect blend of retro style and modern technology. Mr Thareja cited that they paid attention to every single detail, from the lines to the fonts of the tyres.

In terms of appearance, the new Gold Star has retained the retro design elements like the round headlight with integrated DRLs, the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, the LED taillamp and the wide-set handlebars. The bike also has broad fenders on both the front and rear ends. An extended seat, wire-spoked wheels, and an upright riding position are the other features that add up to its retro look. However, the bike continues with its classic BSA look but is built on new underpinnings.

When it comes to the mechanical specs, more details will be out with the official launch, but as per the information disclosed during the showcase, the forthcoming Gold Star bike is going to be powered by a 650cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which is compliant with EURO 5 emission norms and is said to generate around 45HP. The motorcycle has been overhauled for better riding with the spirit of the original Gold Star bike.
