Classic Legends revived the iconic motorcycle brand BSA in December 2021 with the unveiling of its new Gold Star 650. Nevertheless, the brand has not disclosed any further information about the debut of the motorcycle. But now the brand is trying to expand its international dealer network and will announce price specifics by May 2022.
Not only that but the Gold Star 650 is slated to hit the market in June of this year. While another Classic Legends resurrected brand, Jawa, has already started selling its bikes in our country, there is uncertainty about BSA’s arrival in India.
The 2022 Gold Star is the perfect blend of retro style and modern technology. The brand cited that they paid attention to every single detail, from the lines to the fonts of the tyres. BSA Gold Star 650’s chrome finished fuel tank, engine casing, and fenders impart the motorcycle a pure classic look.
When it comes to the technical specifications, the motorcycle is powered by the 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve, DOHC engine, which is coupled with the 5-speed transmission and is capable of churning out 45 hp of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 55 Nm of maximum torque at 4,000 rpm.
Moreover, in terms of braking and suspension, the braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 255mm rear disc brake, which are further supported by a dual-channel ABS system. The suspension responsibilities are assigned to 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload at the rear end.
The BSA Gold Star 650 comes with traditional wire-spoke alloy rims (18-inch front and 17-inch rear) that are shod with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and a kerb weight of 213kg. In the 650cc motorcycle segment, the Gold Star would be competing with the likes of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650.
