CFMoto 250SR is definitely the smartest looking 250cc motorcycle of this generation, currently in the concept form and almost ready to bring the production status to the name. The motorcycle can be seen without a headlight, production-spec exhaust, and other important components like the rear view mirrors, pillion seat, and all the components that are required to keep the pillion safe and comfortable. The new 250SR has a unique front fascia with Ducati-like space around the front cowl to feature headlights (likely to be LED projectors) within them.
The front visor is not that extended like the typical race bikes but, the angle makes sure that wind deflects away from the rider. The front USD forks are golden in outer finish and brakes feature ABS as standard. The colour scheme definitely reminds of Suzuki while the branding of Shell, Bosch, NGK, Akrapovic, and other options can be seen on the side fairing. CFMoto 250SR is based on the frame and engine from the 250NK streetfighter, making the fact clear that India launch will be on the cards for sure.
The typical sportbike feel is further enhanced with sporty clip-on handlebar and rear-biased footpegs. The alloy wheel design is different in comparison to the 250NK. CFMoto is expected to launch the 250SR under INR 2 lakh to place the same right in competition with the Honda CBR250R, TVS Apache RR310, and the KTM RC 390. However, the performance factor may not favor the 250SR against the last two options. Internationally, the KTM RC 250 is another direct rival for the motorcycle.
The production-spec model of 250SR is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, with CFMoto planning an official entry into India soon. The 250SR sports bike is available with an all-digital LCD instrument console that brings clear values to the rider. The production-version may not retain each component from the prototype as cost-cutting is also important for the lightweight segment.
The CFMoto 250SR is expected to be powered by the 250NK’s single-cylinder liquid-cooled 249.2cc engine, which is good for 26 HP of maximum power at 9000 rpm, and 22 Nm of maximum torque at 7500 rpm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
