The prices for Cleveland Motorcycles have leaked ahead of their official launch, listing Misfit and Ace as two primary models with the latter one supporting Ace Deluxe, Ace Cafe and Ace Scrambler variants in the country. The US-based brand entered India this year at Auto Expo 2018, recently starting assembly of products after a religious ceremony at their Pune based plant. The homologation of both products and export formalities have already been finished. They will import the components from their China-based export hub. As most reports were expressing a starting price of around INR 1.5 lakh, the leaked numbers have a different story.
Ace Deluxe will carry a price tag of INR 2.23 lakh while Misfit commands an even bigger tag at INR 2.49 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom and may vary in different cities. The launch of Ace Deluxe will happen on September 20, while the Misfit will launch in India next month or in November. The tags may not feel so bloated in themselves but, taking a look at the availability of features can make you think twice before making a decision. The Ace range of bikes will offer Bonneville style fuel tank, upside down front forks and flat seat for the Deluxe model. The focus stays primarily on comfort and retro looks for this model.
Cleveland Misfit will feature an odd-shaped fuel tank and a combination of certain parts that one will not expect on a single bike. Both these bikes are using an air-cooled, 229cc engine, producing 15.4 bhp of max power at 7000 rpm and 16 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The values are not even equivalent to a motorcycle priced at one-third of its price. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The same amount of money can buy you one from TVS Apache RR 310, KTM 390 Duke and KTM RC390. Putting INR 50,000 will bring BMW G310R into this game.
*Above mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
