Delhi Road Rage Incident - Mahindra Scorpio Driver Arrested

An officer with the Delhi Police said on Monday that they apprehended a 25-year-old man after allegedly attempting to run over a biker in the nation’s capital. A video of a recklessly driven SUV striking a biker went viral on social media, forcing the Delhi Police to initiate Suo Moto Cognizance.

The police identified the accused SUV driver as Anuj Choudhary, a final-year LLB student at a private college. A team from Fatehpur Beri Police Station apprehended and charged him under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder).
ADCP, Harsh Wardhan said, "On reaching the spot near the Arjan Garh metro station, a Royal Enfield Classic 350 was found in damaged condition. The injured person, identified as Shreyansh (22), had been taken to a hospital for treatment,"

"Shreyansh said that he, along with his friends, went to a temple in the Aravallis and were returning home on Sunday morning on their motorcycles. On the way, he had an argument with the driver of a Scorpio car over rash driving/over-speeding during which the Scorpio driver threatened him with dire consequences," said the officer.

The Scorpio driver also got into a fight with some other motorcyclists, which was caught on camera by a YouTuber who was a member of the bicycling club. Meanwhile, Shreyansh crossed the Scorpio and continued on his way.

In the 45-second video clip released on social media by Anurag R. Iyer, we can see the Scorpio hitting Shreyansh from behind, causing him to fall from his bike and connect with the railing across the road. Although it was a life-threatening experience, fortunately, the rider sustained minor bruising and came out of all this ordeal in one piece.
