Bajaj Dominar 400 Beats RE Himalayan and KTM 390 Twins: According to the recent model-wise sales report for July 2020, the sales figure for the Bajaj Dominar 400 street motorcycle is higher than the combined sales number registered by the KTM 390 Twins and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411. The motorcycles we have considered feature almost similar engine displacement while offering a neck-to-neck competition to each other in the Indian motorcycle segment.

With a total of 746 units sold in July 2020, the BS6 Bajaj Dominar 400 has surpassed the total sales number of the KTM 390 Twins and the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which stands at 733 units.

The KTM 390 Duke and the RC 390 have been able to bag a total sales of 254 units in July 2020, witnessing a drop in sales by 27% when compared to the same month last year. The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been able to witness a total sales of 479 units in July 2020 while the Y-o-Y decline stands at 70% for the adventure motorcycle.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is presently available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.95 lakhs (ex-showroom) while features a 373.3cc, triple-spark, 4-valve, DOHC engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 40 HP @ 8800 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The current-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan is available at a starting price tag of INR 1.89 lakhs and features a 411cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, SOHC, BS6-compliant engine that is good for a maximum power of 24.3 HP @ 6500 rpm and an utmost torque of 32 Nm @ 4000-4500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

On the other hand, the customers can avail the KTM Duke 390 and the RC 390 at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.58 lakhs and INR 2.53 lakhs respectively. Powering the motorcycles is a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that is capable of offering 43.5 HP of maximum power. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
