Kinetic May Launch the Hyosung GD250R in India This Year

Hyosung GD250R may soon be a reality for the Indian market. As the partnership of DSK and Hyosung came to an end, Kinetic has successfully revived the brand with GT250 RC and Aquila Pro in the country. The sales for Hyosung were earlier halted as operations were shifting into the Kinetic Motoroyale dealerships. The twin-cylinder GT250RC is priced much higher in comparison to this lightweight yet equally agile model, leaving the brand with scope of bringing the Honda CBR250R rival in the coming months. Kinetic retails Hyosung with other premium brands from their Motoroyale dealership network.

GD250R

Five years back, Hyosung brought the GD250N to Auto Expo and showcased the same to gather user interest. After the show, it suddenly disappeared from the Indian plans and company started selling updated versions of the same old GT and Aquila series bikes. Soon before the switch of the partner, Hyosung reduced its official lineup to Aquila Pro, Aquila 250, GT250R, and GT650R, out of which two were given an ABS upgrade for better placement among the rivals. Still, sales have never been a strong part of the Hyosung group. If launched soon, GD250R will be their first mass-market, single cylinder bike.

GD250R

Theoretically, the Hyosung GD250R is a powerful sportbike with 28 Bhp of maximum power and 25 Nm of torque. The engine is quite powerful in comparison to other 250cc bikes. Not just the engine, the overall weight is also in the favour of performance at just 138 kg. The design helps is get closer in competition to Apache RR 310, featuring similar twin headlight design and USD forks for the premium feel. If Hyosung is successful in placing the same under the ABS-equipped version of CBR250R, the chances of success will go up by a large margin. The best placing point would be around INR 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
